Vanmechelen graduated from Trinity College Dublin, with a BA in 1996 and went on the study further with the University of Wales.
Always painting and drawing, she began showing her work from 2003 onwards.
Vanmechelen has been involved in numerous projects and exhibitions both in Ireland and abroad.
Her work is in the collections of the Bank of Ireland, the OPW and various corporations, such as Treasury Holdings at their Connaught House offices and also at Spencer Dock, in Dublin’s Docklands, she has collaborated on television, fashion and music projects.
